BCB Garden

Tony Sparer - Gardener & Botanis

I am the lead gardener for the BCB Garden. I coordinate the volunteers and donations related to the BCB Garden. I joined the BCB garden in 2023. As I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago, I have a passion for prairie plants, and native plants of the Midwest in addition to fruit and vegetable production. I believe when we connect with plants, we are taking the first step in collectively building a better world for everyone. I have an undergraduate and master's degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in Plant Biology. In addition to my work at BCB, I am Professor at Lincoln University and a staff sponsor for the Tri-Ag Club. You can usually find in the BCB garden on Tuesday evenings from April to October.
